This is another interesting resource I stumbled across this afternoon, the historic photograph site, What Was There.

How it works: You locate the historic photograph. The website then superimposes the old photo over a current photo. You can fade in and out (from the past to the present), to get a good idea of how things have changed at the location.
Here, at the Blount Building site in downtown Pensacola, the buildings you see in the old photo are still there today.
This is a great source to use as I describe the sights that Emmett saw during his lifetime. It’s also nice to see an approximate color version of what Emmett must have seen at this location back in 1910.
