Had Emmett been buried at Congressional Cemetery in D.C., I might actually would have been able to say, “Yeah, Emmett and I once saw a movie together.”

Here’s what I mean:

Tonight, September 26, is movie night at Congressional Cemetery, Washington, D.C. Source: Congressional Cemetery

Tonight’s flick: Alfred Hitchcock’s Psycho. The movie starts at 6:30.

The next event at the cemetery is Dead Man’s Run, on October 3, starting at 6 pm. The promo says that this race is for “dead serious runners who want to keep one step ahead of the ultimate Reapo Man.” Sounds like a lot of fun!

There’s all kinds of interesting events associated with Congressional Cemetery. This may be something other historic cemeteries might want to explore. I don’t think hanging out at a cemetery is ghoulish or crazy — it’s a great place to learn about history.

Congressional Cemetery hosts several other events during the year to raise funds for upkeep, and of course, to attract visitors, and volunteers.  It is a fabulous place to visit if you are ever in D.C.
